“Football Saturdays turning the whole town into one big Mountaineer family, how easy it is to get to know professors in smaller classes, that the workload can sneak up on you and the campus‑hills layout can be exhausting, and that the rural‑city mix takes adjustment, yet the laid‑back Appalachian vibe and strong school spirit still make it feel like you’re in a place that actually cares if you stay.”
