Luke Calcatera is University of North Texas men’s head golf coach, leading the Mean Green in the American Athletic Conference. Hired in 2023, he previously built Arkansas Tech into a Division II national‑power and led North Alabama to a strong season. A 2021 Division II National Coach of the Year and multiple‑time conference‑Coach‑of‑the‑Year honoree, Calcatera emphasizes elite recruiting, technical‑skill refinement, and a highly competitive schedule aimed at elevating UNT within the AAC and toward NCAA‑postseason contention.

Women's Coach Bio

Michael Akers is UNT women’s head golf coach, guiding the Mean Green in the American Athletic Conference. Named to the role in 2016, he has led the program to a dramatic rise in national rankings and multiple consecutive NCAA‑Regional and postseason‑invitational appearances. A former head coach at Texas State with six NCAA‑Regional bids, Akers focuses on scoring‑oriented play, short‑game development, and a culture of accountability that has made UNT women’s golf one of the top women’s programs in the AAC.
