Men's Coach Bio

Rhode Island native Gregg Burke begins his 20th year at the University of Rhode Island in 2024-25, and 14th as head coach of the Rhody golf team. Prior to becoming URI's first-ever full time golf coach, he served as assistant during the 2010-11 academic year and spent 2004-10 as Rhode Island's deputy director of athletics. In 2023-24, Burke helped Bryson Richards cap off one of the most illustrious careers in Rhode Island history.

Women's Coach Bio

Gregg Burke also oversees URI women’s golf in the Atlantic 10 as the program’s head golf coach, applying the same player‑development philosophy used with the men’s team. He focuses on technical‑skill refinement, short‑game work, and a structured practice culture, working to steadily improve the team’s conference‑championship finishes and overall national‑ranking profile. Under Burke, the goal is to position URI women’s golf as a regular, postseason‑aspirational program within the A‑10.
