Men's Coach Bio

Chip Spiron returned to University of Mount Olive in 2002 as head men's golf coach, adding women's duties in 2004. Named 2007 CVAC Men's Golf Coach of the Year, he led the Trojans to their first Conference Carolinas title and NCAA Tournament bid in 2020-21. A former Trojan record-holder, Spiron holds a sports management degree from UMO (after UNC-Wilmington) and worked as assistant pro at Walnut Creek and Southern Wayne CCs.

Women's Coach Bio

Since 2004, Chip Spiron has served as head women's golf coach at UMO, earning Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year honors in 2011-13. One of three coaches with multi-sport conference awards at UMO, he built on his 2002 men's program start. A sports management graduate and ex-Trojan record-holder from UMO (post-UNC-Wilmington), Spiron also gained pro experience at Walnut Creek and Southern Wayne Country Clubs.
